Industrial digital transformation: automation for better performance

“MEPAT is transforming the way it works and is already achieving measurable results.”

Digital transformation is changing the way industrial companies operate, manage information, and interact with their customers.

However, digitalizing a company is not simply a matter of introducing new tools.

For us, the real challenge is different:

How can we make our processes more efficient every day?

This question lies at the heart of one of the strategic initiatives we are working on throughout 2026, which will continue to grow in 2027: the automation and digitalization of internal processes.

From process digitalization to rethinking the way we work

When we talk about digital transformation, it is easy to think of software, screens, data, or new technologies.

However, technology is only one part of the process.

First, we need to analyse how work is carried out, identify repetitive tasks, pinpoint areas for improvement, and determine where automation can deliver real value.

That is why our digital transformation is based on a simple premise:

It is not about doing the same things digitally. It is about doing them better.

Over the past few months, we have begun working with GREENHOUSE on robotic process automation (RPA), initially applying it to various internal management processes.

These include processes related to FICO, banking documentation, archiving, credit limit allocation, and customer order management, with orders entered directly into SAP.

We are also making progress in automating customer order entry and integrating systems through EDI (Electronic Data Interchange).

These processes may differ, but they all follow the same principle: reducing repetitive tasks and freeing up time for activities where people can add greater value.

"1,800 hours per year that can be dedicated to higher-value activities"

One of the solutions implemented will free up approximately:

1,800 working hours per year.

The figure is significant, but what matters even more is how we use that time.

The goal is not simply to work less, but to work better.

Those hours can be devoted to activities such as order tracking, delivery rescheduling, customer communication, coordination, and issue resolution.

Ultimately, these are tasks that have a direct impact on something fundamental to any industrial company:

Customer service.

Automation allows people to spend less of their working day on repetitive processes and focus on tasks that require experience, sound judgement, communication, and decision-making skills.

A transformation that will continue to grow at MEPAT

Process automation is not a standalone initiative.

It is the beginning of a gradual transformation process that will progressively extend across different areas of our organization.

Administration, quality, engineering, technical office, purchasing, marketing, and other departments are all part of this evolution.

Our aim is not to automate every process.

Our aim is to identify those where automation makes sense.

Because not everything that can be automated should be automated.

The key lies in finding the right balance between technology, efficiency, and human expertise.

"Automation doesn't end when a system goes live"

Automation is not a project. It is a strategy.

This is probably the idea that best defines our approach to digital transformation.

Automation doesn’t end when a system goes live.

From that point on, a new phase begins: monitoring, measuring, optimizing, and identifying new opportunities.

What can we improve?

Whenever we identify a repetitive task or an opportunity for optimization, we consider whether technology can help.

This mindset makes automation far more than just a technological tool.

It turns it into a continuous improvement strategy.

Greater efficiency to focus on what matters most

Digital transformation should not be measured solely by the number of processes automated or the amount of technology implemented.

Its true impact lies in the results:

· Greater efficiency.
· Fewer repetitive tasks.
· Lower risk of errors.
· Greater agility.
· Better use of resources.
· More time dedicated to customers.

And an organization better equipped to grow.

At MEPAT, we are moving in this direction.

Because we believe that an industrial company prepared for the future is not necessarily the one with the most technology.

It is the one that knows how to use it to work better.

"Digital transformation is now an integral part of our strategy"

2026 is proving to be a year of significant progress in automation and digitalization, and this journey will continue throughout 2027.

Because for us, automation is not simply about completing a task faster.

It means freeing up time, improving processes, and enabling people to focus more of their efforts on what really matters.

Our customers.
Our projects.
Continuous improvement.
